2027:Tinubu, Oborevwori ‘As Good As Elected’ -Oyibo

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State, Comrade Sir. Evang. Olumami Oritsejolomi Oyibo, has disclosed that the party is set to sweep the state in the 2027 elections, declaring that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori are “as good as elected.”
Oyibo, who is First Member of the Delta State Civil Service Commission, (CSC), attributed the party’s confidence to its grassroots structure, leadership and growing acceptance across the state.

He said, “The APC would deploy a door-to-door campaign targeting local government areas, wards and communities, rather than rely on social media.
“Politics is about structure and what you have on ground. It is not a social media campaign or just making noise.” he said.
Oyibo held that one of it’s campaign slogan, “Option A for PBAT and Sheriff,” reflects its determination to secure the re-election of Tinubu and Oborevwori.
He said the APC was targeting a clean sweep in Delta stressing that its mobilisation would involve council chairmen, councillors, workers and community leaders.
On Oborevwori performances in Delta State, Oyibo said the Governor has proved his critics wrong through projects in roads, bridges, education, workers’ welfare and sports.
“He has demonstrated that he has the capacity, knowledge and ability to turn the state around,” he said.
He cited road and bridge projects in riverine communities, the establishment of Southern Delta University, improvements in workers’ welfare and the proposed 13th-month salary as evidence of the administration’s performance.
Oyibo also commended the administration’s efforts to improve career progression for teachers and other civil servants, saying the measures had boosted workers’ morale.
On the Federal Government, Oyibo defended Tinubu’s economic policies despite widespread hardship and rising cost of living.
He said the President deliberately chose to confront structural problems that previous administrations had avoided, particularly the fuel subsidy regime.
“Tinubu knew the problem of Nigeria and he was prepared to tackle them headlong. You cannot make an omelette without breaking the egg,” he said.
He said the removal of subsidy has increased funds available to the three tiers of government and enabled greater spending on areas such as pensions, education and infrastructure.
He cited NELFUND and other Federal Government interventions as examples of measures designed to cushion the impact of the reforms.
Oyibo urged Nigerians to consider the long-term benefits of the policies, insisting that Tinubu deserves a second term to consolidate the reforms.
He dismissed allegations by opposition parties that the APC-led government was using state power to intimidate opponents and restrict their activities.
“No governor will sit down in his office and begin to encourage his followers to go and create a crisis,” he said.
He described Oborevwori as an accommodating governor and argued that political opponents could sometimes engineer crises themselves and blame the government to gain public sympathy.
Oyibo said the APC remained focused on grassroots mobilisation and would continue its door-to-door campaign ahead of the 2027 elections.
“We did it before and we succeeded. We are going to do it again,” he declared.
